Propagating Tasks in June
We are now half way through year, yet already we have to be thinking of next year.
Now is a good time to take cuttings of many shrubs, and to sow a number of biennial and perennial varieties.
Note: As with most advice on gardening the advisors location will often influence the content of the advice.
To alleviate this problem I have produced this chart indicating how you can make adjustments to the timing of events as seen in this website.

Week 23 - 3rd Jun. to 9th Jun.
Sow Cauliflower (autumn),
Take Aeonium, Coleus, Echevera and Pelargoniums cuttings.
Trim spring-flowering Alpines and take cuttings.
Week 24 - 10th Jun. to 16th Jun.
Sow Calabrese (autumn), Cineraria, Oxalis, Papaver / Poppy, and Primula.
Collect Genista and Primula seeds if required.
Prick out Abies, Acer and Freesia seedlings.
Take Alyssum saxatile, Azalea, Begonia rex, Buddlea, Monstera, Nerium, Rhododendrons and Saintpaulia cuttings.
Week 25 - 17th Jun. to 23rd Jun.
Sow Alyssum saxatile, Anchusa, Anemone, Aquilegia, Arabis, Broccoli, Cabbage (Spring), Cheiranthus, Daphne, Japanese Onion, Paeony, Potentilla, Pulsatilla, and Wallflower seeds.
Take Hedera, Lavender and Rosemary cuttings.
Collect Pulsatilla seeds if required.
Week 26 - 24th Jun. to 30th Jun.
Sow Bellis, Canterbury Bells, Hellebores, Houtuynia, Lupin, Pansy, and Sweet William
Prick out Cytisus and Kniphofia.
Take Bougainvillea, Celastrus, Clianthus, Conifer, Crassula, Dianthus chinensis, Eucomis, Euonymus, Gloxinia, Lonicera, Pinaceae, Poinsettia, Schlumbergera, Sedum and Skimmia cuttings.
Divide Calathea, Colchicums, Cyclamen, Iris reticulata, Primula and Strelitzia if required.
Pot up Lewisia offsets.
Pot up Desfontainia cuttings.
Plant out Muscari bulbs.
