Check recently planted dwarf fern species, to ensure that they have not been dislodged by rain or frost, firm them in if they have.
Lift any self-seeded hardy perennials and replant in any gaps in the flower bed/s.
Loosen the surface of bulb beds with a fork, and dress with a general fertiliser e.g. bonemeal.
