Miscellaneous tasks in March

At any time this month;

If the weather is suitable now is a good time to start making preparations around the garden / allotment, e.g. clearing winter detritus, repairing and checking footpaths and boundary fences as necessary.

For example; remove any grime / algae that has accumulated on your patio and paths over the previous year.

A stiff broom and a bowl of detergent will deal quite well with small areas, however; it is worth considering buying or hiring a pressure washer for larger areas.

Apply residual weedkillers to paths and brick-set patios.

Apply preservative to fences and garden shed if required.
