Under glass in July

Week 27 - 1st to 7th

Daily; open roof vents and doors fully every morning and put up shade netting.

Similarly; continue to tie in Tomatoes & Cucumber and remove side shoots as necessary.

Keep a watchful eye open for Tomato & Cucumber problems.

Pot up Coleus & Wisteria seedlings

Keep a look out for Aphids, Red spider mite and whitefly.

Check over stored tulip bulbs.

Feed Peppers.

Pollinate Melons.

Thin out fruit on Peach trees.

 
 

Week 28 - 8th to 14th

Feed and water container grown Begonias and house plants generally.

Harvest Cucumber if ready.

Thin out excessive growth on greenhouse and conservatory climbers before they obscure light from other plants.

Regularly water and feed climbing shrubs such as Bougainvillea that are restricted to fairly small containers.

Jasminum polyanthum and Plumbago auriculata that are grown in pots, may need any straggly side-shoots shortened and the leaders tied back to supporting framework.

 
 

Week 29 - 15th to 21st

Ensure that tomato plants have a uniform supply of water and fertiliser, and pick fruits as they ripen.

 
 

Week 30 - 22nd to 28th

Pinch out Gardenia cuttings.

Commence feeding Melons.
