Fruit Garden in April

 

At any time this month;

Spray fruit trees / shrubs with a suitable fungicide to prevent mildew disease.

Note; Choose a day/s when there is no wind to ensure that the spray will not present any problems to adjacent plants

 

 

Week 14 - 2nd to 8th

Plant out Strawberry plants in prepared ground if conditions allow.

Mulch Black,Red & White currant bushes

Protect flower buds on Cherry trees

 
 

Week 15 - 9th to 15th

Sever rooted Blackberry layers 

Feed Raspberries

 
 

Week 16 - 16th to 22nd

Check fruit trees for woolly aphid and blast off with water.

Spray fruit trees/shrubs with a suitable fungicide to prevent mildew disease.

Choose days when there is no wind and spray drift will not present any problems.

Trim Blueberry, Bilberry, and Cranberry bushes.

Encourage good Grape pollination.

Mulch Raspberries

 
 

Week 17 - 23rd to 29th

If not done previously; check fruit trees for woolly aphid and blast off with water.
